2. I played soccer for 12 years. I started out non-competitive on a local AYSO team. After my first couple years I was asked to join a travel team where I had the opportunity to play in tournaments in Hawaii three different times. I joined my first competitive team, Hotspurs, then later joined United. In high school I was a 4 year varsity player, team captain my senior year, and made all-league every year. To say the least, I miss it very much!
3. I am obsessed with children. That sounds creepy but I seriously just love kids! Even when they are crying, pooping, or barfing, I can't get enough of them. When I have a son his name will be Landon and my daughter will be Grace. I want to have three but my boyfriend only wants two.. We'll see about that ;)
4. Speaking of boyfriend, I have one! His name is Thomas and we actually went to high school together. The funny thing is we never had classes together or even talked but we knew about one another. Last summer one of my best guy friends came to my house and brought Thomas with him and I guess we can say it was history from there. He is the sweetest, most caring, and funny guy I have dated and we are pretty great together. According to him there will be an engagement by the end of 2015 so stay tuned for that because I most definitely am!
5. My big career goal is to become a wedding coordinator. Why am I doing photography then you ask? I plan on having a business where I offer not only coordination but the photography, florals, makeup, rentals, stationary.. Pretty much a one-stop wedding shop!
6. I have three tattoos and absolutely plan on getting more. I know many people disagree with them, my dad included, but I love that I can express myself and have something so meaningful with me for the rest of my life. They have been birthday presents from my mom each year since my 18th birthday. For my 20th birthday I got my papa's handwriting that says "see you later alligator love papa". He always said that to my sister and I growing up and it is important to me because he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer so I wanted something to remember him by.
7. I love all types of music. I listen to country, rock, alternative, 70's, 80's, 90's. You name it and I most likely listen to it. Paramore, Fleetwood Mac, Thompson Square, and Mumford and Sons are just a few of my favorites.
8. My first year in college I attended San Diego State University. Unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of it so I decided to go to Grossmont Community College to finish my general education. I will most likely transfer to Point Loma Nazarene to receive a bachelors degree in art.
9. I am an animal lover. My first dog, Kolbe, was with me from age 5 to 17. Of course I was heartbroken when he passed. My second dog Dallas I had for about a year but he unfortunately was a little too wild for us and we had to find him the perfect family. Currently my boyfriend and I have a 10 month old German Shepherd named Samantha. She is the best dog ever! So sweet, loving, loyal, and absolutely gorgeous.
I also have four cats (not in the same house) Lola, Brody, Maci, and Julian and a yorkie named Cali.
10. I watch more television than I like to admit but who doesn't right? I religiously watch The Walking Dead, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, Grey's Anatomy, Vampire Diaries, and American Horror Story. I also love HGTV, Eric & Jessie, Teen Mom 2, and Friday Bride Day on TLC. With my recent discovery of Netflix (thanks to my best friends) I have fallen in love with Supernatural. Who doesn't enjoy watching Sam and Dean hunt ghosts and monsters?!
11. I thoroughly enjoy to read. Novels, magazines, blogs, you name it and I will read it! My favorite author is Jodi Picoult and one of my goals is to own and have read all of her books (nerdy, I know). I also read the entire Twilight series before it became popular.
12. I always try to be a good friend. I have a few really close friends that I have had since I was young. Nikole, Summer, Taylor, and Ashley. If they have a problem it becomes mine too. They are the girls who will be in my wedding and I think it's cool I've been friends with all of them since elementary or middle school.
13. I am not the best cook but I'm trying my hardest to learn! Being 20 years old now, I am close to being completely out on my own and having a family so I want to be able to cook, not just simple stuff but really yummy homemade kind of stuff.
14. I am a bit of a dork. I make silly faces, laugh at most things, dance by myself, make jokes, and trip over shoes (among other objects). I love to have fun and not be so serious all the time. It's good for you :)
15. I love traveling but hate sitting in the car for too long and have a fear of planes. Makes sense right? I've been to many places in the U.S. but my favorite place I've been to is Nassau, Bahamas. I highly recommend it!
16. I have a mild case of OCD. I count my steps when I walk, have to have the volume on an even number, my clothes have to be hung in colors, and things in my room have to be organized a certain way. I hope I'm not the only one..
17. I have lived in San Diego my whole life. Although I am about 25 minutes from the beach, I rarely go because I am deathly afraid of going in the water (sharks, hello!). I live in a smaller town where we have a rodeo and the biggest thing here is our Starbucks. A little too large for everyone to know everyone but I think it's pretty dang close.
18. I enjoy motocross and most anything with racing. I grew up at the desert and watching NASCAR with my dad, rooting for Earnhardt Jr of course! My cousin races in the Lucas Oil Offroad Series and I follow Supercross every year. My favorite riders are Ryan Dungey, Ken Roczen, and Adam Cianciarulo.
19. I love "love". I am a very loving person and I truly believe in love. I believe in soulmates and I plan on marrying one person and staying with them until death do us part. I am the type of person who gives my all in every relationship in my life because you never know when you will see someone for the last time. My very first tattoo is an infinity sign with the word "love" because I don't believe in anything more.
20. I try to always be positive. Life is short and you don't want to waste one second of your time here. I try not to get upset over silly things, look at the bigger picture, and always have a smile on my face. If you do these things I promise you life will seem a little brighter :)
Well there you have it! 20 things about me, your photographer. Do any of these sound like you?
I have openings in March and April and I will be sharing my latest shoot very soon.
Xoxo,
Megan
